When I finally opened the box and started setting everything up, the experience felt less like installing a medical device and more like opening a new Apple product. Within minutes, I had attached the provided hanging system over a door in my office, downloaded the app, followed its instructions, measured my skin and was ready for my first session.
Four weeks isn’t nearly enough time for me to tell you what Solius has done for my long-term health. But it is enough time for me to say that I’m incredibly impressed by the product, fascinated by the science behind it and increasingly convinced that Solius represents an interesting new category of wellness technology.
I can optimize my diet. I can exercise at the same time every morning. I can control my sleep environment. I can use a sauna. But try “dosing” sunlight. Was I outside at the right time? Was enough skin exposed? What’s the UV index? And perhaps most importantly: how much is enough without becoming too much?
Solius is essentially attempting to engineer its way around that variability. In effect, Solius is trying to take an important biological signal from sunlight and make it precise, personalized and repeatable.
