
Ecler Ercole Jaqua, MD, MBA, DABOM, FAAFP, AGSF, FACLM, AAHIVS, is an associate professor of Family and Geriatric Medicine at and associate program director of the Loma Linda University Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Jaqua began her medical career at the age of 17 at The Lutheran University of Brazil, driven by a lifelong passion for medicine and patient-centered care. She completed her residency—and served as chief resident—at Loma Linda University Health. Dr. Jaqua then went on to pursue a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Health. Dr. Jaqua is board-certified in Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Obesity Medicine. She has received a Lifestyle Medicine Interventionist certification and is an HIV specialist. In addition to her clinical achievements, Dr. Jaqua holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on strategic leadership, which complements her work in education and program development. She is committed to advancing resident education and providing holistic care for patients of all ages. Dr. Jaqua lives with her husband and daughter in Loma Linda, California and enjoys singing, hiking, playing volleyball, and walking her dogs. She speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
