This study evaluated patients with chronic plaque psoriasis before and after narrowband UVB phototherapy, using 16S rRNA sequencing to assess changes in the skin microbiome. While overall microbial diversity did not significantly change, responders to UVB treatment showed significant shifts in specific bacterial groups, including decreases in Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, Finegoldia, Anaerococcus, and Peptoniphilus, and these microbiome changes were associated with greater psoriasis improvement.
