Effects of Vitamin D Supplementation on Metabolic Profile in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

A study recently published in The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology investigated the effects of vitamin D supplementation on the metabolic profiles of patients with type 2 diabetes. This research found that long-term vitamin D supplementation significantly reduced fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, and serum concentrations of non-HDL-C, hs-CRP, and uric acid among middle-aged to elderly patients.
