Beneficial Role of Vitamin D on EPCs in Cardiovascular Diseases

A recent review found that vitamin D has a widespread impact on health due to having a role as an antithrombotic, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fibrotic. Further, this review found that vitamin D may lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Vitamin D increases expression of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) which have been shown to repair damages in the endothelium and help prevent cardiovascular disorders.
