Pre-infection Vitamin D Deficiency Can Increase COVID Severity

A new study found that COVID patients with vitamin D deficiency prior to infection were 14 times more likely to have severe or critical cases of COVID-19. Vitamin D deficient patients had a 25.6% mortality rate, compared to a 2.3% mortality rate among vitamin D sufficient patients.
